How this volunteer role fits with our mission:  Even after women leave our program, they continue to need empowerment and guidance to remain working towards lifelong changes.  This role is so important to provide a safe and nurturing environment for them to share life together with other women who have walked a similar journey.  You are a pivotal part of their success through encouragement and providing an environment of support.

Volunteer Title:  Alumni Outreach
Time Commitment:Monthly check-in with women and occasional events
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Vol Basic Training and Communication Guidelines  3) Advanced Volunteer Training (5 sessions) preferred

Requirements:Facebook account.  Mature walk with Christ.
Expectations:Communicate with SH alumni each month.  Plan at least 1 event to gather alumni women each quarter.
Duties & Responsibilities:Communicate with and encourage alumni through our private Facebook group and individual texts.
Gather the women to meet with very minimal cost to them.  Example:  meal, activity, game night, etc.  Teach the life skill of “free fun.”
Acknowledge each alumni’s birthday with a card.
Document encounters in SH database.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission: A big part of our program is empowering women with employment to create long-term sustainability.  Affordable transportation is a primary component to their employment.  Many of our participants have never owned a car and this step inspires lifelong changes for them and their future.

Volunteer Title:  Car Finder Team

Requirements:Available to go look at cars and assess yourself (or someone you trust) with a knowledge of basic car mechanics.  
Expectations:On-going search for cars for our participants $3,000-$4,000 range.
Duties & Responsibilities:Consistently look for car possibilities like FB Marketplace, auctions, word-of-mouth, etc.
Make arrangements to drive and assess the car. (Assessment can be done by yourself or someone else who is trusted.)
Help with purchase logistics (payment arrangement , pickup, etc.).
Guide one of our ladies as the proud new owner through simple care:  how to check fluids, type of fuel needed, basic maintenance, etc.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission:  Regular and consistent check-in with each participant empowers these women to make lifelong changes in their habits, behaviors and thinking.  In your time together, you are able to guide her through the process of walking through the adjustments and self-motivation necessary to achieve her goals.

Volunteer Title:  Case Management – Career & Education Advisor
Time Commitment:Varies, depending on participants’ need

Requirements:Confidentiality.  Goal setting ability.  Good assessment skills.
Expectations:Assist participants with individual career and education goals.
Duties & Responsibilities:Facilitate needs assessment with participants to help her reach her goals.
Assist participants to apply for FAFSA and Weatherford College.
Assist participants to apply for TRIO at Weatherford College.
Facilitate RIASEC evaluation for career interest.
Assist participants in how to apply for jobs online.  Review resume, write cover letter, etc.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission:  You help keep our participants on-track with learning sound money management.  By reconciling financial activity each week, you are an important part of her case management and long-term success.

Volunteer Title:  Case Management – Financial Reconciling
Time Commitment:Once a week, 2-3 hours
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Vol Basic Training with Financial Peace process & forms 
Reports to / works with:Elizabeth Mederos, Program Manager
Requirements:Sound financial process to reconcile bank statements.  Familiar with concepts of Financial Peace curriculum.
Expectations:Each month, reconcile deposits and expenses for participants to the monthly budget they created.
Duties & Responsibilities:Reconcile the bank statement, computing total expenses and deposits made.
Review the budget created by each participant.  Note discrepancies between the budget and the bank statement.
Make notes of observations in the SH database for the SH Program Manager to review.

Time Commitment:Daytime hours.  3 options: Phase 1 (1st 90 days in Program) meets weekly with participant.  Phase 2 (4-8 months) meets every 2 weeks with participant.  Phase 3 (9-12 months) meets once a month.
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Basic Vol Training and Case Management Training  3) Advanced Training (5 sessions) preferred
Reports to / works with:Elizabeth Mederos, Case Manager
Requirements:Confidentiality.  Goal setting ability.  Good communication skills to coach and not direct participants towards goal accomplishments.
Expectations:Assist ladies with life skills to achieve appropriate goals; you will be their thinking and accountability partner.
Duties & responsibilities:Discuss progress achieved and progress needed to work towards their monthly goals to bring lasting changes.
Document each session in our database to share victories and challenges with SH Case Manager.
At least 1 session must be in-person.  The 2nd session can be a video call, as long as her goal setting remains effective.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission:  One of the ways we guide women is to teach life skills of maintaining a home.  Although it may seem basic, keeping a home clean is not a skill everyone learned growing up.  This role comes alongside a new participant to teach lifelong skills. 

Volunteer Title:  Cleaning Coach
Time Commitment:As needed when new participants arrive.
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Vol Basic Training  3) Advanced Volunteer Training (5 sessions) preferred
Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator 
Requirements:Knowledgeable in efficient cleaning techniques.
Expectations:Teach new participants how to clean the offices and living quarters.
Duties & Responsibilities:Together, clean the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom.  Explain how and why things are cleaned.
Clean areas in the office, explaining the methods.
After you’re done, celebrate by enjoying a beverage and visiting together.  Teach the value of rest after work!

How this volunteer role fits with our mission: Deep cleaning is a different skill than weekly cleaning.  This role helps guide women to maintain a home with excellence.

Volunteer Job Title:  Cleaning Team (Spring & Fall)
Time Commitment:twice a year, 3-6 hours

Requirements:Knowledgeable in efficient cleaning techniques.
Expectations:Assist and teach ladies Spring cleaning techniques.
Duties & Responsibilities:Spring cleaning methods for: windows, baseboards, ceiling fans, under & behind furniture in all houses and offices.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission: When new ladies arrive, they come with very few possessions.  They begin their journey (we call it “Coming Home”) by selecting necessities or clothing and personal items.  It is important for our Clothes Room to be welcoming, clean, and organized.  This sets the tone for how dearly loved and cherished they are, which empowers them to create new habits in their thinking and behavior.

Volunteer Title:  Clothing and Donation Team
Time Commitment:Regular commitment of 4-6 hours each month to cover the room weekly by a Coordinator with a team of 2-3 volunteers.
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Vol Basic Training with Donation Room Guidelines  3) Advanced Volunteer Training (5 sessions) preferred
Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements:Able to lift 20 pounds, prolonged standing. Organizing skills preferred.
Expectations:Maintain room to be clean and inviting.  Knowledge of sizes and items to assess our ability to accommodate a new arrival’s needs.
Team Duties & Responsibilities:Sort donations.  Remove outdated and unusable items.
Organize items by size and function. 
Keep the room clean and tidy.  Be creative in storing items with pleasing appearance.
(Coordinator) Be available by phone or in-person to discuss inventory for a new arrival.
Help ladies pick items from the room on arrival, season changes, and other times throughout the year.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission: You are part of empowering our ladies to discover entrepreneurial opportunities.  By guiding them to create crafts to sell, they see the process in action, with potential for their own income generating ideas.  Also, these crafts help generate funds for the ministry. 

Volunteer Title:  Craft Assembly Team 
Time Commitment:Varied hours, primarily in September and October, but could be done through the year.
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Vol Basic Training  
Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements:Ability and desire to create quality crafts.  Basic skills of painting, sanding and lettering.
Expectations:Guide the ladies to create crafts in a safe manner and ensure that the finished product is high quality.
Duties & Responsibilities:Practice the craft on your own.
Demonstrate and schedule a time to guide and assist the ladies to create the craft.
Offer suggestions for quality workmanship and place ladies with tasks where they can be successful.
Quality check each item to be at a quality to sell.

Requirements:Project must be simple to make and have a good price point.
Expectations:Create new project ideas and teach the process to the ladies.
Duties & Responsibilities:Create examples of new products to sell and present your ideas to staff.
Once approved, create a supply list for purchases.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission: We desire for the women to be empowered with the skills and experience needed to generate their own income through entrepreneurial avenues.  At the fair, you will have the opportunity to interact and build relationships with the ladies. Also, the income  helps generate funds for the ministry. 

Volunteer Title:  Craft Fair Team 
Time Commitment:Varied hours, primarily in October and November, but could be done throughout the year.
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Vol Basic Training  3) Advanced Volunteer Training (5 sessions) preferred
Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements:Ability to bend and stand for prolonged times.  Good customer service skills.
Expectations:Assist with loading, unloading, setting up tables and/or selling items during the craft fair (as physically able)
Duties & Responsibilities:Help package items to load in tubs.
Load, unload, and set up craft table at the fair.
Be present during the fair (2-4 hours) to sell items with the ladies.
Help clean up and load items to return to Sanctified Hope.
Demonstrate and model responsible money handling.
Take products to local businesses that will display and sell products for us; replenish as needed.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission: In the first 90 days after a participant arrives, she begins learning new concepts for new thinking.  This class is one of three classes in our beginning Core Curriculum.  As a teacher, you empower and guide women to make lifelong changes, which is far beyond taking a class.  You help her understand Godly principles and how to apply them to her life.

Volunteer Title:  Curriculum Teacher:  Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace, Beth Moore’s Breaking Free, Robert McGee’s Search for Significance
Time Commitment:2 hours, weekly.   Financial Peace – 9 weeks; Breaking Free – 11 weeks; Search for Significance – 8  weeks
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Vol Basic Training  3) Advanced Volunteer Training (5 sessions)
Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator 
Requirements:Mature walk with Christ.  Ability to lead discussion.
Expectations:Host the class each week and engage the women in meaningful discussion.
Duties & Responsibilities:Study the material (do the homework for yourself).
Lead a discussion to cover main concepts of the homework. Apply  the material to everyday life.
Give the opportunity for the ladies to ask questions, struggle with truth and engage in dialogue.
Keep the discussion on track and if there is a video, watch it together.  Encourage women to memorize Scripture and hide God’s Word in their heart so we will not sin against Him.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission: When our ladies first arrive, we transport them to every appointment and location.  This provides a wonderful opportunity for conversations and building relationships while in the car.  As a driver, you guide them through their first few months in the program and talk through their experiences as they work towards lifelong changes.

Volunteer TitleDriver
Time Commitment:Varies. A weekly driving shift is the most desirable.  However, “on-call” drivers are also needed for unexpected needs.

Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements:Must have a clean driving record; full coverage insurance on your vehicle.  Your vehicle must be in excellent working condition.
Expectations:Pick up passengers on time and engage in conversation as you take ladies to and from appointments.
Duties & Responsibilities:Check the schedule for the time to arrive and depart the location to transport your passenger(s).
Follow SH driving guidelines, especially regarding any extra stops not on the schedule.
Clarify if you are to wait for the passenger or drop-off and leave.
Enjoy visiting with your passengers and getting to know our wonderful ladies as you empower and guide them towards lifelong changes.
Check with the Volunteer Coordinator about activities & tasks while waiting between driving appointments.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission: You help create sustainability for Sanctified Hope to continue transforming lives by helping others know about the work we do and engage people to donate, volunteer, serve, and pray.

Volunteer Title:  Event Chairman and Committee
Time Commitment:Varies, as needed for each event.

Reports to / works with:SH Volunteer Coordinator 
Requirements:Dependability. Initiative. Communication.
Expectations:Assist the Executive Director to plan, promote, execute and follow-up for an event.
Duties & Responsibilities:Plan aspects of the event: location, time, venue, promotion, invitations, food, speaker, decor, registration, volunteer team, set up, and follow-up.
Chairman leads and assigns tasks to be completed in a planned timeline by a team of volunteers.
The team takes ownership of the aspects for the event and communicates with the Executive Director to ensure all details are being handled in a professional and effective manner that represents Sanctified Hope as desired.
Note: Team member roles and commitments will vary, depending on their part of the event.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission:  Because we consist of body, soul, and spirit, we desire for women to grow in each of these areas.  Good health empowers us to achieve more through increased energy.  You are an important part of our program, empowering and guiding participants to make lifelong changes in how they treat their bodies and choose good health.

Volunteer Title:  Exercise Instructor Team (need 2-3 rotating instructors)
Time Commitment:Weekly for at least 6 weeks, up to 12 weeks.
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Volunteer Training
Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements:Knowledge in appropriate exercises for a variety of experience and health levels.  
Expectations:Guide ladies through developing an appropriate regular routine for long-term health.
Duties & Responsibilities:Arrive at Sanctified Hope at the scheduled class time.
Lead women through an exercise program for 30 – 45 minutes, using our equipment.
Teach women the “why” behind the exercises and habits for good health.
Enforce good hydration and self-care as women explore good techniques for exercise.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission: This role is key to empower and guide women!  Through the various curriculums you will be walking alongside one woman for the entire stay at Sanctified Hope.  Building a relationship with her helps her walk through the many challenges she will face while making big changes in her thinking and habits to inspire lifelong changes.

Volunteer Title:  Mentor
Time Commitment:Weekly 2 hours (flexible according to your schedule and the schedule of your mentee)

Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator 
Requirements:Daily walk with Christ to grow and know Him.
Expectations:Meet with mentee weekly to build a relationship and work through the curriculum.
Duties & Responsibilities:Set up a consistent time to meet with your mentee.
Work through the curriculum in a timely manner.
Be open, teachable and vulnerable with your mentee.  Guide her into truth and empower her to live in the truth of God’s Word.
Assist in your mentee’s program to inspire lifelong changes.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission:  To manage our programs at Sanctified Hope, there are many moving parts needed to help our office run smoothly to best support our participants as they make lifelong changes.  Consistent volunteers are key to our operations and providing stability to our participants so they can develop trust in being cared for by our staff.

Volunteer Title:Office Volunteer
Time Commitment:Varies.  Some roles work best with a regular commitment, while others can be done with flexible schedule options.
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Vol Basic Training and Office Procedures  3) Advanced Volunteer Training (5 sessions) preferred
Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator is your primary contact.  She will connect you with various staff as needed.
Requirements:Confidentiality.  Attention to detail.  Computer skills for some roles.
Expectations:Volunteers work on the priority tasks for that day.
Duties & Responsibilities:Database input, WEEKLY input forms with participant information.
Supply Orders,  WEEKLY ON MONDAYS.  Fill requests from participants and submit weekly orders for supplies.  Create a list of items needed for the newsletter on the 3rd Monday each month.
New participant documents Assemble documents in binders as needed once a month.
Donated items  Record items on Donation Intake Form.  Write thank you note.
Mail Monthly newsletter.   Address and stuff envelopes for the newsletter to mail to women waiting to be released from jail.
General office duties as needed.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission: It’s not just about chickens – this aspect of our program teaches about providing food for your family and the responsibility of caring for an animal in heat, cold, rain, and shine.

Requirements:Knowledgeable and experienced in basic care for chickens.
Expectations:Guide and assist ladies in raising and caring for chickens consistently.
Duties & Responsibilities:Demonstrate and guide ladies in raising and caring for chickens: buying chickens, supplies needed, how to care for them.
Maintain the coop with six chickens; replace as needed.
Trim feathers, as needed, to keep chickens from escaping the coop.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission:  This role empowers women to provide food for their family.  It also teaches responsibility and skills of caring for creation.  Many Biblical concepts are taught and better understood through agriculture.  

Volunteer Title:  Outside Areas (Garden)
Time Commitment:Varies, at least twice a month. More regularly during the growing season. Also, as needed for special projects and seasonal upkeep in winter.
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Vol Basic Training  3) Safety guidelines for gardening and using equipment.  
Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator 
Requirements:Knowledgeable of basic gardening principles and how to care for the garden from spring to fall.
Expectations:Guide and assist ladies to grow and harvest vegetables.
Duties & Responsibilities:Assist with spring planting, explaining different planting techniques for various plants.
Demonstrate how to water and care for the garden.
Teach ladies garden care for different seasons: fertilizing, mulching, pesticides.
Teach women about composting.

How this volunteer role fits with our mission:  Taking care of a home is an important life skill for our women to learn and do.  They learn to work in the heat and cold and to operate machinery.  This role also teaches appreciation for homes they see and the work that goes into creating and maintaining a beautiful environment.

Volunteer Title:  Outside Areas (Mowing/Landscaping)
Time Commitment:Varies. 
Training Required:1) SH Orientation  2) Vol Basic Training  3) Safety guidelines for using yard equipment 
Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator 
Requirements:Knowledge of equipment at Sanctified Hope and areas to attend on the grounds.
Expectations:Guide and assist  ladies to care for areas of the yard and flowerbeds.
Duties & Responsibilities:Demonstrate how to mow and weed eat the yard areas.
Assist with spring planting, fall pruning, mulching, etc.
Demonstrate how to water areas of the yard.
Teach ladies how to care for the yard in different seasons.

Volunteer Title:  PRAYER TEAM
Time Commitment:Regularly at home; once a month with Prayer Team in-person
Training Required:1) SH Orientation
Reports to / works with:Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements:Desire to pray and committed to uphold high confidentiality.
Expectations:Prayer is crucial to our ministry, to have dedicated individuals who will pray, asking God for what to pray.
Duties & Responsibilities:Set a time each week to pray as the Holy Spirit directs.
Receive prayer requests from Sanctified Hope team for immediate needs.
Record what you pray and answers to prayer.
Gather with the Prayer Team, once a month to pray together.
